Japan just axed the Google Pixel 7, and the 8 and 9 might be next on the chopping block

This could be just the beginning.

A Japanese court has issued a sales ban on the Google Pixel 7 series, a major blow for the company, especially since Japan has become one of its key strongholds outside the U.S. According to a report from ETNews, a Japanese court ruled that Google’s Pixel 7 series stepped on Pantech’s patents, so now, those phones are officially off the shelves in the country. This kind of ruling is almost unheard of in Japan, with the news outlet stating that it’s actually the first time a product ban has been handed down over a standard patent issue.
