Japan’s moon lander took this eerie photo before being enveloped by lunar night

JAXA has confirmed its SLIM lander has gone dormant for the two-week-long lunar night, after it sent a final image taken before dusk. The ill-fated lander managed to turn on after landing upside down, but may not survive the cold, dark stretch.

An unconfirmed changelog shared on X by Android app developer Dylan Roussel suggests Google is planning to introduce some changes to Bard on February 7 along with new Gemini products. Samsung's new AI tools, combined with subtle design tweaks, help the Galaxy S24 and S24+ make a more compelling case for upgrading from any phone older than the S23. The biggest news stories this morning: Meta’s Reality Labs has its best quarter ever, making a $4 billion loss, Snap is recalling its Pixy drone after battery fire, Niantic is bringing an AR skateboarding game to Apple Vision Pro.
