K-Scale Labs (YC W24) Is Hiring a Chief Operating Officer

K-Scale Labs, a Y Combinator (W24) backed startup, is on a mission to revolutionize robotics by building open-source humanoid robots. Supported by AI Grant and Fellows Fund, our team comprises AI experts with diverse backgrounds from academia and industry. As we continue to grow, we are looking for a dynamic and experienced Chief Operating Officer (COO) to join our team in Palo Alto. Role Overview The COO will be a key member of our leadership team, responsible for overseeing the company’s ongoing operations and procedures. You will be the company’s second-in-command and responsible for the efficiency of the business. The COO will maintain control of diverse business operations and establish a strategy for scaling our team. Key Responsibilities: Develop and implement business strategies, plans, and procedures. Oversee daily operations of the company and the work of executives (IT, Marketing, Sales, Finance, etc.). Manage relationships with customer partners, ensuring satisfaction and long-term collaboration. Build and maintain strong relationships with Chinese manufacturers. Proficiency in Chinese language and familiarity with Chinese culture are highly preferred. Foster relationships with government funding agencies to secure grants and other funding opportunities. Lead efforts in scaling the team, including recruitment, onboarding, and development of team members. Set comprehensive goals for performance and growth. Establish policies that promote company culture and vision. Participate in expansion activities (investments, acquisitions, corporate alliances, etc.). Assist the CEO in fundraising ventures. Qualifications: Proven experience as a COO or relevant role in a technology or robotics-related field. Understanding of business functions such as HR, Finance, Marketing, etc. Demonstrable competency in strategic planning and business development. Experience in managing relationships with manufacturers, particularly in China. Fluency in Chinese and familiarity with Chinese business practices is a significant advantage. Excellent interpersonal and leadership skills. Outstanding organizational and time management skills. Aptitude in decision-making and problem-solving.
