Kenya, US sign historic pact on nuclear plans


Kenya has signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with the US as it seeks safe and secure deployment of nuclear technology

Mr Keter clarified that while KNRA is not necessarily a promoter, it exists to ensure Kenya’snuclear programme is developed within the highest levels of safety and security to lives, property and the environment. KNRA board chairman Omondi Anyanga also expressed confidence in the collaboration, stating: “We believe the MoU will bring substantial benefits to the Kenyan economy. As the country moves forward with its nuclear aspirations, experts highlight the importance of robust regulatory frameworks and international cooperation to ensure the safe and effective deployment.
