Konami’s AI project backfires, Yu-Gi-Oh! videos deleted over unauthorized use of popular actress’ voice

An open-source voice synthesis AI model used by Konami is suspected of being trained on Hibiku Yamamura without her consent.

Konami say they used the AI model Anneli, which is part of an open-source, commercial-use speech synthesis system called Aivis Project. In response to the suspected unauthorized learning, the company said it “respects all creators and has begun investigating the situation.” They assured users that none of the AI technology has been implemented in Yu-Gi-Oh! Currently devoted to growing Automaton West to the size of its Japanese sister-site, while making sure to keep news concise and developer stories deep and stimulating.
