Learning why Shadow is so popular with Sonic X Shadow Generations and Takashi Iizuka
We got a chance to talk with Takashi Iizuka, creative director for all of Sonic and the man who created Shadow the Hedgehog.
In fact, Sega has declared 2024 the Year of Shadow, which will include the character’s prominent role in the film Sonic the Hedgehog 3, which comes to theaters this December. The concept was to go back and go through 20 years of Sonic history, picking up all the most popular zones, and having it be a piece of content that spoke to the fans. So it all happened to be this perfect combination of a popular character, a movie, and the game as well that really allowed us to execute on the years of Shadow.
