Linux 6.10 SLUB Optimization To Reduce Memory Consumption In Extreme Scenarios


A patch to the Linux kernel's SLUB allocator has been queued ahead of the upcoming Linux 6.10 merge window to help reduce memory consumption in extreme scenarios.

The patch is in the SLAB.git repository's "for-next" branch ahead of the Linux 6.10 merge window coming in mid-May. About The AuthorMichael Larabel is the principal author of Phoronix.com and founded the site in 2004 with a focus on enriching the Linux hardware experience. Michael is also the lead developer of the Phoronix Test Suite, Phoromatic, and OpenBenchmarking.org automated benchmarking software.
