Back during the Linux 6.13 kernel cycle initial support for many (pre-M1) Apple devices were upstreamed including various iPad, iPhone, and iPod Touch devices. Being worked on for a while has been the Apple DWI backlight driver for supporting different iPhone, iPod Touch, and iPad devices that feature LCD panels. The initial DeviceTree files for the Apple DWI backlight driver add it for the s5l8960x, t7000, s8000, t8010, and t8015.
