Linux 6.17 Merges Important Stability Fixes For Open-Source NVIDIA Driver

As a follow-up to the article last week around the open-source NVIDIA Linux driver 'Nouveau' about to become much more reliable following fixes, that code was merged on Friday for Linux 6.17.

They take care of some hard to track down / reproduce stability issues with the Nouveau driver that would lead to app/game freezes and ultimately losing your desktop session. These notable Nouveau fixes are now merged in Git ahead of tomorrow's Linux 6.17-rc5 release. Look for that back-porting to happen in the coming days for those on current stable versions of the Linux kernel.
