Linux Patches Adjust AC Plug/Unplug Behavior During s2idle To Match Windows

A set of patches sent out on Saturday by AMD Linux engineer Mario Limonciello seek to adjust the Linux behavior for laptops/handhelds during AC plug/unplug events during s2idle to better match that of Microsoft Windows 11.

It also adds a new sysfs file to determine how much battery was lost over the last sleep cycle which could aid in userspace statistics and in debugging high power consumption over s2idle." Besides changing the behavior, the other interesting aspect of this is/sys/power/suspend_stats/last_sleep_energy as a new file to expose the amount of energy that the battery consumed during the last sleep cycle. The "last_sleep_energy" is reported in mAh.About The AuthorMichael Larabel is the principal author of Phoronix.com and founded the site in 2004 with a focus on enriching the Linux hardware experience.
