Live blog: Apple’s AI plans, iOS 18, and more at WWDC 2024


Tim Cook is going to say “AI” a lot.

The company reportedly plans to infuse its operating systems with AI features, debut chatbot features in partnership with OpenAI, and generally show that it hasn’t fallen behind Google, Microsoft, and the rest of the tech world when it comes to the year’s hottest tech. The rise of AI should offer Apple another shot at building a “do anything for you” assistant, and rumors are that we’ll see the foundations of that laid at this year’s developer event. The big AI news will come on top of the regular batch of WWDC updates: new versions of iOS, iPadOS, macOS, and more.
