The retailer stopped taking orders on its website and app for clothing and home deliveries and also paused its in store collection service on 25 April. As well as disrupting its online business, the hack affected the company in-store too, leaving some shelves bare in the days after it was first targeted. In July, M&S chief executive Stuart Machin told investors that the retailer would be over the worst of the aftermath of the incident by August.
