Meta beats Android XR to the punch by making Instagram scrolling spatial
Scrolling on Instagram is about to take what's digital and make it real(ish).
In a Meta blog post, the company announced that it's bringing a little of its Reality Labs magic to a limited group of users on Instagram this week. Meta states Instagram's test will leverage Reality Labs' "AI view synthesis algorithms" to convert your typical flat photo (2D) into an immersive 3D format. During the event, Nishtha Bhatia, product manager, building and bringing consumer experiences at Google, demoed the company's glasses.
