Meta Platforms is planning to launch two small versions of its forthcoming Llama 3 large-language model next week, The Information has reported[ non-paywalled link]. It comes as several companies, including Google, Elon Musk's xAI and Mistral, have released open-source LLMs. Meta hopes Llama 3 will catch up with OpenAI's GPT-4, which can answer questions based on images users upload to the chatbot.
