Meta scraped every Australian user's account to train its AI

Meta scrapes all the photos and texts in all Facebook and Instagram posts in Australia since 2007, unless the user had set their posts to private, Meta's global privacy director Melinda Claybaugh admitted.

Despite those legal questions around AI adoption in Europe, bottom line is that Meta is giving users in the bloc the power to block data collection. Google announced that it has entered a partnership with Holocene to support its direct-air capture technology for collecting and removing carbon dioxide emissions from the atmosphere. A group of attorneys general have drafted an open letter to Congress to signal their support for social media platforms to come with a warning label.
