Meta uses your Instagram and Facebook photos to train its AI models


Chris Cox told Bloomberg's Tech Summit that Meta is using public Instagram and Facebook photos and text to train its AI image generator.

Meta executive Chris Cox told Bloomberg's Tech Summit the company doesn't "train on private stuff." Meta's chief product officer, Chris Cox, told Bloomberg's Tech Summit on Thursday that it uses publicly available photos and text from the platforms to train its text-to-image generator model called Emu. Meta even considered acquiring the publisher Simon & Schuster in a bid to get more data to train its models, The New York Times reported last month.
