Online, people have shared their concerns and anger towards Meta’s decision to use all Facebook and Instagram user data without asking for explicit consent. WhatsApp users were surprised to see the Meta AI chatbot function show up in their messenger - which they didn’t turn on, and which can’t be disabled. NOYB warns that Meta could potentially face huge legal risks for forcing EU citizens to actively opt-out.
