Meta’s Quest headsets add spatial video and pinch controls to compete with Vision Pro

Quest headsets are getting new pinching gestures, too.

The Meta Quest 3 will soon give wearers the ability to easily view spatial videos as well as use new pinching gestures for control, features that are similar to what you’ll find in Apple’s much more expensive Vision Pro headset that launches this week. have already shown how to convert Apple’s spatial videos for playback in their headsets using standard side-by-side 3D formats, but official support should mean having the ability to skip that extra step. It’s similar to the pinch gestures Apple has made a part of using the Vision Pro and reminiscent of the “air tap” that we’ve used going back to Microsoft’s HoloLens.
