Microsoft Azure Linux 3.0.20240824 Enables More Kernel Features, Adds XWayland
Azure Linux as Microsoft's in-house Linux operating system that is used for a variety of purposes is out with a new feature release.
Among the new packages in this routine Azure Linux 3.0 update include cpufrequtils, mtr, and sysfsutils. Azure Linux 3.0.20240824 also enables virtual repo snapshot support, adding DMI / EROFS / DM-VERITY drivers, a new license validator tool, NVIDIA driver integration updates, and many other upgrades and fixes. It will be interesting to see what comes here and if they end up offering any desktop options moving forward or stick strictly to server/cloud headless deployments.
