Microsoft has hired Mustafa Suleyman and Karen Simonyan, co-founders of high-profile AI startup Inflection AI, as the Satya Nadella-led cloud giant Microsoft has hired Mustafa Suleyman and Karen Simonyan, co-founders of high-profile AI startup Inflection AI.
The startup sought to develop AI systems that can engage in open-ended dialogue, answer questions, and assist with a variety of tasks. In 2022, Inflection AI raised $225 million in a Series A funding round led by Hoffman’s VC firm Greylock Partners, along with participation from Microsoft, Google Ventures. “This renewed emphasis on our API also comes with some important changes in the company,” wrote Inflection AI, which had raised hundreds of millions of dollars.
