Microsoft just made it way easier for developers to build AI apps — and it could be bad news for AWS


Microsoft expands its AI developer tools with GitHub Copilot for Azure, simplifying cloud integration and transforming how developers build and deploy AI applications in an increasingly competitive market.

Microsoft unveiled an ambitious expansion of its artificial intelligence tools on Tuesday, introducing GitHub Copilot for Azure and a suite of developer-focused features that could fundamentally change how software is built in the AI era. Having to interface with lots of different tools creates a huge amount of cognitive overload,” said Amanda Silver, CVP of Product for Microsoft’s Developer Division, in an interview with VentureBeat. Microsoft’s announcement includes new capabilities for model evaluation and A/B testing at scale through GitHub Actions, allowing developers to automatically assess metrics like coherence and fluency as part of their deployment workflows.
