Microsoft Releases March 2025 Update To Azure Linux 3.0


Microsoft is out today with their newest monthly update to their in-house Linux distribution, Azure Linux, with all available package and security updates through this month's Patch Tuesday.

Azure Linux 3.0.20250311 released today and adds many package updates, many of which were done in the name of security fixes to address outstanding CVEs. Azure Linux 3.0.20250311 also brings a number of Perl and Python updates, enabling the text user interface (TUI) for perf, adding signed packages for the edk2-hvloader and kernel-mshv packages, and a variety of other upgrades. Downloads and more details on this monthly update to Azure Linux 3.0, which was previously known as "CBL-Mariner", can be found via the GitHub announcement.
