Microsoft says AI is getting deployed 'at scale'


The tech giant's AI success has caused shares to surge, after its market value passed $3tn.

The tech giant has a large stake in OpenAI, the maker of the ChatGPT bot, which launched a wave of optimism about the new technological possibilities when it was released in 2022. ChatGPT and other large language models (LLMs) "learn" by analysing a massive amount of data often sourced online. Sales of Microsoft's Azure cloud computing offerings, which are closely watched by investors, rose 30% year-on-year, better than analysts had predicted.
