While it's currently only available via Discord and on the web, the launch positions the popular AI image generation startup in direct competition with OpenAI's Sora and Google's Veo. The company says it has larger goals for its AI video models than generating B-roll for Hollywood films or commercials for the ad industry. The report notes that Midjourney was sued a week ago by two of Hollywood's most notorious film studios: Disney and Universal.
