Mitsubishi in talks to source its new EVs for Australia, New Zealand from Foxconn unit
Mitsubishi Motors is in talks with Taiwan-based Foxconn's EV division to source an EV model for the Australia and New Zealand markets.
Mitsubishi said on Wednesday that it had signed a memorandum of understanding with Foxtron Vehicle Technology to develop the EV, and would hold further discussions to reach an agreement. Mitsubishi said it will start selling a rebadged version of the Nissan Leaf electric car in the second half of 2026 in North America, while Nissan would sell a rebranded plug-in hybrid electric vehicle model made by Mitsubishi, also in North America next year.
