More Radeon RX 9000 "RDNA4" Open-Source Driver Improvements Merged For Mesa 25.1


Additional improvements for AMD GFX12 as the graphics engine IP of RDNA4 graphics with the Radeon RX 9000 series have been merged ahead of this quarter's Mesa 25.1 feature release.

This merge request expanding the compression capabilities found with prior generation AMD GPUs should help now for facilitating better performance/efficiency with the new Radeon RX 9000 series graphics cards. Longtime AMD open-source OpenGL driver developer Marek Olšák has also landed some new code today for Mesa 25.1. Marek's work was the ac: tweaks, task shader performance, fix Elden Ring memory usage.
