My 5 favorite Linux distros for home office desktops - and I've tried them all


If you work remote or run your own business out of your house, consider my picks for the best Linux desktop OS.

I've considered this over the years (and used many different flavors of Linux), and have come up with a short list of distributions that would make outstanding home office OSes. Ubuntu also ships with Snap preinstalled, which means you have access to proprietary software, such as Slack, which most business users depend on. Linux Mint also offers an automatic update feature, so you don't have to worry about forgetting to run an upgrade that might include a critical security patch.
