Nearly half of job seekers using generative AI for resume help: survey

Job seekers are increasingly open to using AI tools to help draft their resumes, with nearly half of those surveyed by Canva indicating they have used AI on their resume.

"For job seekers to understand that overwhelmingly hiring managers feel that it is acceptable to use AI for some parts of your materials, job seekers should take some confidence in that and continue to use it as a sort of great jumping off point," Amy Schultz, global head of talent acquisition at Canva, told FOX Business. "I think you should always proof what you’re getting back from whatever generative AI tool that you’re using and ensure that it reflects your tone of voice, your kind of experience, and that when it comes to an interview that you’re ready to speak to that," Schultz said. Schultz noted that Canva’s AI-powered Magic Write tool was used 5 million times in resume template designs last year, so job seekers are looking for an edge to help their application stand out.
