Netflix prices increase again after attracting a record amount of subscribers

The streamer wants you to pay "a little more" so it can invest in more content

Over 19 million people signed up to Netflix, which the company says was down to a combination of live sports and original programming. Starting today, Netflix customers in the US, Canada, Argentina and Portugal will have to shell out a little more each month to watch shows like Squid Game 2 and WWE, and it’s likely other countries will see similar price hikes soon. It hasn’t stopped the streamer from doubling its net profit between October 2024 and December 2024 to $1.8bn compared to the same period a year ago.
