New report claims nearly 1 in 5 games released on Steam in 2025 use AI-generated content


According to a report from Totally Human, nearly 8,000 games on Steam use GenAI, and the number is growing daily.

Based on the data, it's clear that more developers, especially indie studios with small teams and limited budgets, are relying on AI to help get their games made. Other uses include AI-generated sound effects and music, text for game dialogue or story, marketing content, and even lines of code.
