New UK porn law warning as OFCOM hits back at claims Brits have 'found a way around it'

EXCLUSIVE: The battle of who is going to get to watch porn and how they'll get around people stopping them has seen OFCOM officials issue a rather ominous warning

Earlier this week, the Daily Star reported how regulators had set a hard deadline of July 25 for pornographic websites, search engines and social media platforms to implement highly effective age assurance technology to safeguard children from encountering X-rated material online. “Our guidance is clear that platforms must not host, share or permit content that encourages use of VPNs as a way to get around online safety measures, like age checks.” OFCOM plans further work including consideration of technical evidence, testing methodologies, industry standards and best practices which will feed into this report.
