Nintendo delays Switch 2 preorders in the U.S. over tariff impacts


Nintendo says Switch 2 preorders won't go live in the U.S. on April 9, citing President Trump's newly revealed tariffs.

At Nintendo’s big Switch 2 Direct, the company revealed the launch date for the new console, and also when preorders would go live. However, the company has now stated that it’s delaying preorders for U.S.-based customers due to the recent tariffs introduced by President Donald Trump. A few analysts, including Niko Partners, theorized that one of the reasons the prices were so high compared to previous Nintendo consoles and games, was because of potential tariffs.
