Nintendo makes its stance on generative AI very clear

Nintendo's president has made the gaming giant's stance on generative AI clear, stating they do not intend to use the tools.

Nintendo president Shuntaro Furukawa stated that the company will not use generative AI in its games due to IP concerns. This stance contrasts with other companies like Square Enix, Xbox, and EA, which are pursuing generative AI in game development. Square Enix stated earlier this year that they intend to “aggressively” pursue AI in order to “reshape” its creations.
