No Man’s Sky adds paleontology in Relics update, launching today

No Man's Sky's newest update allows players to find and dig up fossils on its trillions of procedurally generated worlds.

Called Relics, Update 5.6 adds prehistoric scenery and the profession of paleontology to its massive universe, affording players the chance to dig up the bones of ancient beings. Because this is No Man’s Sky, the fossils do not always stay in ground, and on some planets players can find the skeletal creatures have arisen and are roaming around. No Man’s Sky’s most recent addition previously was the Worlds II update that rolled out in January.
