TerraPower has been riding a wave of interest from hyperscalers, data center developers, and now chip designers.
TerraPower, the nuclear startup founded and backed by Bill Gates, announced a new $650 million funding round this week. Like other nuclear startups, TerraPower has been riding a wave of interest from hyperscalers, data center developers, and, now, chip designers. The storage system is designed to produce up to 500 megawatts of electricity for more than five hours, helping to fill gaps in solar and wind generation.
