Olympic esports will level the playing field, says boss


The CEO of one of competitive gaming's top teams says the new event will draw new audiences.

The Kingdom recently hosted the Esports World Cup, with some fans, players and commentators boycotting the event in protest over its human rights record. Alban says he was approached to advise the International Olympic Committee (IOC) as part of its plans to attract younger audiences. The Arab country, where homosexuality is illegal, has come in for criticism over its stance on LGBT relationships and lack of rights for women.
