One Google I/O announcement would fix the gaping hole in Wear OS
Whether it's Fitbit, Google Fit, Android Health, or some future Gemini Coach, Wear OS needs a uniform health and fitness app at its center.
As far as how Wear OS watches would stand out, there are still other ways to differentiate between different models in their design, displays, UI, and so forth, without leaving health and fitness as this Wild West marketplace. Give it some basic goals and coaching, make it free, and let people use it as a waystation between their Wear OS watch and whichever proprietary fitness app they prefer. All I know is that, at some point, Google's choice to leave its Wear OS partners to fend for themselves on health and fitness — the first priority for a lot of Android watch buyers — could backfire on them.
