The part of the week that is supposed to get the "average Joe and Jane" excited about the future so that they want to use the cool new products developers can make using all the new stuff. Combine that with the fact that a large number of people attending are there as press or influencers, and it makes the whole thing look really weird this time. The show started right, with Pichai telling people how Google has spent billions of dollars and over 10 years working on AI and its infrastructure.
