OpenAI releases ChatGPT app for Windows

New Alt+Space shortcut puts OpenAI’s assistant a key press away at all times.

"This is an early version, and we plan to bring the full experience to all users later this year," OpenAI writes on the Microsoft Store entry for the app. And just like the web version, all the AI processing takes place in the cloud on OpenAI's servers, which means an Internet connection is required. So as usual, chat like somebody's watching, and don't rely on ChatGPT as a factual reference for important decisions—GPT-4o in particular is great at telling you what you want to hear, whether it's correct or not.
