OpenAI's Whisper invents parts of transcriptions — a lot

It adds violent remarks, racial commentary and more to the transcription.

Over a dozen developers, software engineers and academic researchers have found evidence that Whisper creates hallucinations — invented text — that includes made up medications, racial commentary and violent remarks, ABC News reports. The biggest news stories this morning: Cash App starts handing out settlement money, Chrome might get its own AI, and Apple might revive the iMac G4. According to Bloomberg's Mark Gurman, the smart home display will feature a small, square screen mounted on a base, 'making it reminiscent of the circular bottom of the iMac G4.'
