Oracle Linux 10 Reaches GA, Available With Unbreakable Enterprise Kernel 8.1

Building off the release of Red Hat Enterprise Linux 10 (RHEL 10.0) just over one month ago, Oracle today announced the general availability of Oracle Linux 10.0.

Oracle Linux 10 is now in GA for those wanting to use this downstream flavor of RHEL 10. Besides re-basing against the Red Hat Enterprise Linux 10.0 base, Oracle Linux 10 also offers up UEK 8.1 as the newest iteration of their Unbreakable Enterprise Kernel as an alternative to the Red Hat Compatible Kernel offering. Unbreakable Enterprise Kernel 8 Update 1 is derived from Linux 6.12 LTS while adding in further security hardening, select device drivers have been pulled in from Linux 6.15 stable such as some Broadcom storage drivers, and other kernel configuration modifications.
