Palmetto wants software developers to electrify America using its AI building models


Palmetto has developed a virtual view of how every residential building in the U.S. was built.

But as growth has slowed in the market for residential solar, the company has begun to tackle other electrification projects, including backup batteries and heat pumps. Palmetto’s president of energy intelligence Michael Bratsafolis told TechCrunch that the company is “basically simulating digital twins of the entire US residential building stock.” To validate the models, Palmetto can turn to the data it has already gathered on homes that have bought or are leasing solar panels from the company.
