Paramount Global lays off a reported 800 employees


Paramount Global said Tuesday it’s laying off some of its “very valued colleagues,” including on its Paramount+ team. The cuts will reportedly affect about 800 employees, an estimated three percent of the media giant’s workforce.

The biggest news stories this morning: The best projectors for 2024, Apple Cash will offer virtual card numbers for online shopping, Intuitive Machines will attempt first commercial moon landing. Amazon isn't only interrupting its Prime Video subscribers' viewing experience with ads -- it's also removing their access to Dolby Vision and Atmos unless they pay $3 a month on top of their subscription fees. Thousands of rideshare and delivery drivers for Uber, Lyft and DoorDash are planning to hold a demonstration on February 14 to demand fair pay and better security measures, according to Reuters.
