Patreon will increase the cut it takes from new creators


Patreon is bumping its take fee from creators from 8% to 10%, but only for new signups.

Patreon, a creator monetization platform that offers membership programs and digital goods, announced on Monday that it is changing its pricing structure. “Since we last updated our prices six years ago, Patreon has expanded beyond just payments to include media hosting, community, and discovery,” the company wrote in a blog post. She is the co-host of Wow If True, a podcast about internet culture, with science fiction author Isabel J. Kim.
