Pentagon awards contract for 3D printed hypersonic components to Sintavia
Sintavia secures a DoD contract under the GAMMA-H initiative to advance additive manufacturing for hypersonic flight components.
According to Brian R. Neff, Sintavia’s Founder & CEO, the contract award signifies a “significant progression in establishing and standardizing additive manufacturing processes applicable to hypersonic production across the industry.” The GAMMA-H project was announced in October 2023 with a budget of $106.7 million, and it is a joint effort between the Office of Secretary of Defense ManTech and the Naval Surface Warfare Center, Crane Division. “Looking into the next few years, it is clear to us that we need to make the investments today that will support the demand from our customers tomorrow,” Neff outlined back in April, adding that in order to do that, the company needs “to have the right facilities, hardware, and software in place.”
