PlayStation 5 Pro costs $700 and launches on November 7
Sony announced the PlayStation 5 Pro, an upgrade on its existing PS5 that emphasizes high framerates and graphical power.
The AI-driven upscaling is called PlayStation Spectral Super Resolution and uses machine learning to add detail and clarity. The PS5 Pro was engineered, according to Cerny, with the goal of marrying the two modes, or at least reducing the visible distance between them while keeping framerates high. Hideaki Nishino, CEO of Sony Interactive Entertainment, said in a follow-up blog post that several PS5 games will be patched to take advantage of the PS5 Pro’s features, including Marvel’s Spider-Man 2, Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart, Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth, Dragon’s Dogma 2 and The Last of Us Part II Remastered.
