Pokémon developer Game Freak has acknowledged a massive data breach, which has seen thousands of confidential documents shared online related to the franchise, and its employees. In a statement published on Sunday, the company claimed that over 2,000 pieces of employee information have been stolen from the company. It acknowledged “unauthorized access by a third party,” which it said has resulted in the personal information of current, former, and contract employees of the developer appearing online.
