Polish firm receives licence for new solar technology that works indoors under artificial light
The technology is believed to be more efficient and cheaper than traditional silicon-based photovoltaics.
A Polish company has become the first to receive approval from a leading certification body for a new type of flexible solar cell made using perovskite that is cheaper than traditional silicon-based photovoltaics and even produces power from artificial light. “The awarding of the certification guarantees that the product has the status not of a unitary prototype, but of a mature market offering with stable, repeatable parameters,” said the firm’s parent company, Columbus Energy. He has written on Polish affairs for a wide range of publications, including Foreign Policy, POLITICO Europe, The Independent and Dziennik Gazeta Prawna.
