PSA: Don’t let your kids use Yoto’s recalled Mini speaker

The included charging cable can cause the battery to overheat.

By Emma Roth, a news writer who covers the streaming wars, consumer tech, crypto, social media, and much more. The recall affects the Yoto Mini speakers sold nationwide from November 2021 through April 2024. You can contact the company to get a free replacement Mini Smart Cable, which Yoto says will “keep the battery charge within safe limits” and “minimize the risk of overheating.” The company has also said it has rolled out a software update to the Mini speakers to “improve battery management and extend Yoto Mini use between charges.”
