Qualcomm brings its Snapdragon X chips to mid-range Windows laptops and desktops

Qualcomm's latest chip for PCs, Snapdragon X, announced at the 2025 Consumer Electronics Show, is aimed at the mid-range market.

Packing Qualcomm’s Oryon CPU with 8 cores clocked up to 3GHz, Snapdragon X also has a neural processing unit (NPU), which supposedly accelerates AI workloads. “There are over 60 Copilot+ PC designs powered by Snapdragon now available or in development,” Peter Burns, senior director of product marketing at Qualcomm, wrote in a blog post provided to TechCrunch last week. Qualcomm last year abruptly canceled its Windows-based mini PC, but the company said during CES that it’ll help bring to market desktops powered by its Snapdragon X Series processors in 2025.
